Cape Town, 03 August 2026 – Award-winning journalist, author and Daily Maverick senior writer Rebecca Davis will headline a special Women’s Month event at Steenberg Farm on Thursday, 27 August 2026, bringing her trademark blend of sharp observation, honesty and humour to a conversation about the realities of modern womanhood.
Hosted at Bistro Sixteen82, the evening will see Davis reflect on the pressures, expectations and everyday challenges women face as they navigate careers, family life and an increasingly demanding world.
Drawing on her experiences as a journalist, author, and commentator on South African society, she will offer a candid and often humorous perspective on the balancing act that defines so many women’s lives today.
A senior writer at Daily Maverick and author of Self-helpless: A Cynic’s Search for Sanity and Best White: And Other Anxious Delusions, Davis is widely recognised for her incisive commentary on South African politics, culture and media.
“Women’s Month provides an important opportunity to reflect on the experiences, contributions and challenges of women from all walks of life,” says Jessica Louw, Marketing Manager at Steenberg Hospitality.
“Rebecca has a remarkable ability to tackle complex and often challenging topics with intelligence, honesty and humour. Her reflections on modern womanhood are both relatable and thought-provoking, and we look forward to hosting an evening of meaningful conversation and connection.”
The event takes place at Bistro Sixteen82 from 18h30 and is priced at R875 per person. The experience includes a glass of bubbly on arrival, followed by a collection of sharing plates, hearty mains and decadent desserts.
